WebSep 17, 2008 · After 2 1/2 years of flawless performance, my Dell 2001FP LCD monitor has suddenly generated a static light gray bar (about 1.5 inches wide) from the top to bottom of the screen. It's left side is about 1.75 inches from the left edge of the screen. I've tried a reset of the monitor to no avail. I have changed the resolution, but it's still there. When I finish a current project, I plan to attack the cause and correct it. In the interim, I made the extended desktop the main monitor and the stripe went away.
