The main dealer said as long as you have at least 2 brake lights working then you are legal. I would expect such a large dealership to be up-to-speed with the current road regs. ( Check if there Is there a separate fuse for the high levels lights ?) If you can remove the LED strip can you not test for continuity with a 12v supply or test the caravan supply with a good 12v bulb.
